RSVPs & Attendance
Everything you need to know about joining and attending events.
How RSVPs Work
Requesting to Join
- Find an event you want to attend
- Click the RSVP button
- Your request is sent to the host
Approval Process
Events can be set up in two ways:
Open Events
- Your RSVP is automatically approved
- You're immediately added to the attendee list
Approval Required
- The host reviews your request
- They can approve, decline, or ignore it
- You'll be notified of their decision
RSVP Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for host approval |
| Approved | You're confirmed to attend |
| Declined | Host declined your request |
| Cancelled | You cancelled your RSVP |
Managing Your RSVPs
Viewing Your Events
Go to Events → Attending to see all events you've RSVPed to.
Cancelling an RSVP
If your plans change:
- Go to the event page
- Click Cancel RSVP
- Confirm cancellation
Note: Be considerate — cancel as early as possible so the host can fill your spot.
Re-applying After Cancelling
If you cancelled but want to rejoin:
- Go back to the event
- Click RSVP again
- You'll be placed back in the approval queue
Event Capacity
Events have a maximum number of attendees. If an event is full:
- You may not be able to RSVP
- Some events may offer waitlists (coming soon)
"Interested" Feature
Not ready to commit? Click Interested to:
- Save the event for later
- Let the host know there's demand
- Get reminded as the event approaches
This doesn't count as an RSVP — you'll need to formally request to join.
Being a Good Attendee
- Show up on time — Respect the host's schedule
- Communicate — If you're running late, let people know via comments
- Be prepared — Bring what the event description asks for
- Leave ratings — Help build trust in the community
If You Can't Make It
Life happens. Here's the right way to handle it:
- Cancel your RSVP in the app (don't just no-show)
- Post a comment if it's last-minute
- Be honest — Repeated no-shows affect your reputation
Problems with an Event?
If something goes wrong:
- Contact the host via event comments
- Report safety concerns
- Block a user if needed
