GatherRound Community Guidelines

GatherRound works because people treat each other with respect and accountability. These guidelines help ensure that events, interactions, and communities remain welcoming, safe, and fair for everyone.

GatherRound is a social events platform operated by Ninety2 LLC ("we," "us," or "the Company").

Our goal is to help people connect in person through board games, tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), trading card games (TCGs), and other shared play experiences.

1. Who These Guidelines Apply To

These Community Guidelines apply to all GatherRound users, including:

  • Players
  • Individual hosts
  • Verified hosts
  • Businesses hosting events
  • Event attendees
  • Commenters and reviewers

They apply to both:

  • Activity on the platform, and
  • In-person behavior directly connected to GatherRound events.

2. Core Community Values

We expect all users to act in accordance with these principles:

  • Respect – Treat others with dignity and courtesy.
  • Safety – Act responsibly when meeting others in person.
  • Honesty – Be truthful about who you are and what you're hosting.
  • Inclusion – Harassment or discrimination is not tolerated.
  • Accountability – Actions on GatherRound affect real people.

3. Inclusivity & Respect

GatherRound welcomes players and hosts from all backgrounds, identities, abilities, and experience levels.

Inclusivity means respectful treatment — not unrestricted access. Everyone deserves to feel welcome, safe, and respected when using GatherRound.

Reasonable Participation Requirements

Hosts and businesses may set reasonable participation requirements, including:

  • Premium or paid membership requirements
  • RSVP approval or guest limits
  • Experience or skill-level expectations
  • Age restrictions
  • Event format or audience focus
  • Venue or capacity constraints

These types of limitations are permitted when they are clearly stated, applied consistently, and not based on personal identity or protected characteristics.

What Is Not Allowed

Exclusion is not permitted when it is based on:

  • Race, ethnicity, or national origin
  • Gender identity or sexual orientation
  • Religion
  • Disability
  • Socioeconomic status as a personal trait (not pricing tiers)
  • Any other protected characteristic

This includes exclusion framed as "jokes," "preferences," or "community norms."

What We Expect from the Community

We expect users to:

  • Treat others with dignity and respect
  • Avoid assumptions about background, ability, or experience
  • Communicate clearly and kindly
  • Avoid gatekeeping or belittling others

Inclusivity applies both online and at in-person events.

Hosts & Inclusive Events

Hosts are encouraged to:

  • Clearly describe event requirements and expectations
  • Be upfront about membership or access requirements
  • Create welcoming environments within the scope of their event
  • Intervene if behavior becomes exclusionary or hostile

Inclusive hosting builds stronger communities—even when events have limits.

4. Age Requirements & Minors

Account Creation

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create a GatherRound account.

Event Attendance

  • Users under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to attend in-person events.
  • Some events or venues may impose higher age requirements.
  • GatherRound strongly encourages minors to attend events with a parent or guardian present, especially for private or home-hosted events.

GatherRound does not verify guardian approval and does not supervise minors.

5. In-Person Safety Expectations

Because GatherRound facilitates real-world meetups:

  • Meet in public or reputable venues whenever possible.
  • Follow all venue rules and applicable laws.
  • Do not pressure others to attend, stay longer, or engage beyond their comfort level.
  • Leave immediately if a situation feels unsafe.

GatherRound does not organize, supervise, or control events and is not responsible for in-person interactions.

6. Identity & Business Verification

Individual Identity Verification

Some users may choose to verify their identity using Stripe Identity. Identity verification is available to users aged 16 or older.

Important clarifications:

  • Verification is optional and intended to increase trust.
  • Verification does not guarantee safety, behavior, or intent.
  • GatherRound does not store government IDs or biometric data.
  • Verified users are still subject to moderation and enforcement.

Verified Hosts & Players have completed identity verification through our verification provider. Verification confirms the user's identity at the time of review and does not constitute a background check, endorsement, or assurance of trustworthiness, safety, or suitability.

Misrepresentation or attempts to bypass verification may result in account action.

Business Verification

Business Pro subscribers may apply for manual business verification to earn a verified badge.

Important clarifications:

  • Verification confirms valid business documentation was submitted.
  • Verification does not indicate licensing, insurance, or regulatory compliance.
  • Verification does not guarantee quality, safety, or legitimacy.
  • Verification is not an endorsement by GatherRound.
  • Verified businesses are still subject to moderation and enforcement.

Submission of fraudulent or misleading business documentation may result in immediate account termination.

7. Ratings & Reviews

GatherRound includes community-powered ratings for players, hosts, and businesses.

Ratings and reviews must be honest and factual. Do not post reviews to retaliate, harass, or manipulate someone's reputation.

Allowed

  • Honest, factual feedback
  • Constructive criticism
  • Safety-related observations

Prohibited

  • Retaliatory or coercive reviews
  • Harassment or personal attacks
  • False or misleading claims
  • Attempts to manipulate ratings

We reserve the right to moderate or remove ratings that violate these standards.

8. Event Accuracy

Event listings must be truthful and up to date.

Hosts should promptly update listings if details such as location, time, or age requirements change. Misleading or inaccurate event information may result in event removal or account action.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate others
  • Discriminate based on protected characteristics
  • Impersonate individuals or businesses
  • Create fake accounts or manipulate engagement
  • Share private or sensitive information without consent
  • Promote illegal activity
  • Post sexually explicit content
  • Use GatherRound for scams or unrelated solicitation

Severe violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent bans.

10. Reporting & Enforcement

Reporting

Users can report:

  • Events
  • Profiles
  • Reviews
  • Safety concerns or inappropriate behavior

Enforcement Actions

Reports are reviewed in context and may result in:

  • Warnings
  • Event removal
  • Content removal
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent account bans
  • Removal of ratings

Repeated or severe violations escalate consequences.

11. Appeals

If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you may submit an appeal through our support channels.

Appeals are reviewed manually. Final decisions rest with GatherRound.

12. Final Note

GatherRound is a community built on trust.

If something feels unsafe, misleading, or abusive — report it.
