Adding Friends

Visit someone's profile
Click Add Friend
Wait for them to accept your request

Accepting Friend Requests

Click the notification bell
View your friend request
Click Accept or Decline

Benefits of Friends

See their events on your home page
Get notified when they join events
Access friends-only events they create
Easier to find each other for games

Following Businesses

Businesses on GatherRound work differently than individual users:

How to Follow

Visit a business profile
Click Follow
You're instantly following (no approval needed)

Notification Bell

After following, click the bell icon to get notified when that business:

Creates new events
Posts updates

Unfollowing

Click Following on their profile to unfollow.

Finding People

Search

Use the global search (⌘K on desktop) to find:

People by username or display name
Businesses by name

At Events

Great way to connect:

Attend an event
Meet people in person
Add them as friends afterward

Blocking Users

If someone is bothering you:

Visit their profile
Click the menu (three dots)
Select Block User

What Blocking Does

They can't see your profile
They can't see your events
They can't RSVP to your events
Any pending RSVPs are automatically declined
You won't see their content

Unblocking

Go to Settings
Find Blocked Users
Click Unblock next to their name

Privacy Controls

Friends List Privacy

Control who sees your friends:

Public — Anyone can see
Private — Only you can see

Change this in Settings → Privacy.

Profile Visibility

Public — Anyone can view your profile
Private — Only friends see full details

Tips for Connecting

Complete your profile — People are more likely to accept requests from profiles with photos and bios
Add favorite games — Helps you find people with similar interests
Be respectful — Don't spam friend requests
Meet in person first — Gaming together builds real connections
