Law Enforcement & Legal Requests Policy

Last Updated: January 11, 2026 · Version 1.2

TL;DR

  • GatherRound does not voluntarily share user data.
  • We disclose information only when legally required.
  • Each request is reviewed for validity and scope.
  • We share the minimum data required by law.
  • We may notify users unless legally prohibited.
  • Identity documents are stored by Stripe, not GatherRound.

1. Overview

This policy explains how Ninety2 LLC, operating the GatherRound platform ("GatherRound," "we," "us"), responds to requests for user information from law enforcement, courts, or other government authorities.

Ninety2 LLC operates from Fairfax County, Virginia, United States.

GatherRound is a platform for discovering and hosting in-person gaming events. We are not a law enforcement agency and do not proactively monitor users for criminal activity.

2. Our General Approach

GatherRound is committed to:

  • Protecting user privacy
  • Complying with applicable laws
  • Responding appropriately to legitimate safety concerns

We do not:

  • Voluntarily provide user data to law enforcement
  • Share data without a valid legal basis
  • Provide unrestricted or bulk access to user information

We disclose information only when legally required or permitted under applicable law.

3. Types of Requests We May Receive

We may receive legal requests including, but not limited to:

  • Subpoenas
  • Court orders
  • Search warrants
  • Emergency disclosure requests
  • Data preservation requests

Each request is handled on a case-by-case basis.

4. Review & Validation Process

When GatherRound receives a legal request, we:

  1. Verify the authenticity of the requesting authority
  2. Confirm jurisdiction and legal validity
  3. Review the scope and specificity of the request
  4. Assess whether disclosure is legally required
  5. Limit disclosure to the minimum data necessary
  6. Document the request and our response

We may reject, narrow, or challenge requests that are:

  • Overly broad
  • Legally invalid
  • Improperly scoped
  • Outside our jurisdiction

5. Data That May Be Disclosed

Depending on the nature of the request and legal requirements, disclosed information may include:

  • Account identifiers (username, email address)
  • Profile information
  • Event listings and RSVPs
  • Messages, comments, or reviews
  • Reports or moderation records
  • Timestamps and limited technical data (such as IP address logs, if available)

6. Identity Verification Data (Stripe Identity)

If a user has completed identity verification:

  • Government-issued ID images, selfies, and verification artifacts are collected and stored by Stripe Identity
  • These materials are not stored or hosted in GatherRound's own systems
  • GatherRound retains only limited verification metadata, such as:
    • Verification status
    • Verification timestamps
    • Reference identifiers

Identity verification materials held by Stripe are subject to Stripe's own privacy, security, and legal disclosure obligations.

Requests specifically seeking identity documents may need to be directed to Stripe, subject to applicable law.

7. Payment Information

GatherRound does not store:

  • Full credit card numbers
  • Bank account numbers
  • Payment credentials

Payment processing is handled by Stripe and subject to Stripe's own legal and compliance obligations.

8. Emergency Disclosure Requests

In rare situations involving an imminent risk of serious physical harm or death, GatherRound may disclose limited information in response to a valid emergency request, consistent with applicable law.

Emergency disclosures:

  • Are reviewed carefully
  • Are limited in scope
  • Are documented internally

GatherRound does not make emergency determinations lightly.

9. Data Preservation Requests

Upon receipt of a valid preservation request, GatherRound may temporarily retain relevant account data to prevent deletion while legal processes are ongoing.

Preserved data remains subject to applicable privacy and security protections.

10. User Notification

When legally permitted, GatherRound may notify affected users before or after disclosing information.

We do not notify users when:

  • Notification is prohibited by law
  • A court order or warrant includes a non-disclosure requirement
  • Notification could compromise an investigation
  • An emergency situation exists

11. Jurisdiction & International Requests

GatherRound responds to legal requests issued under:

  • Applicable United States federal or state law
  • Valid international legal processes, when required by law

Requests must comply with applicable jurisdictional requirements.

12. Transparency

GatherRound does not currently publish a public transparency report. We may consider doing so in the future as the platform grows.

Law enforcement and government agencies must submit requests through our designated legal contact channel.

Requests sent through general user support channels may not be processed.

14. Policy Updates

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in law, platform functionality, or operational practices.

Material changes will be reflected by an updated revision date.

Final Note

GatherRound is designed to enable meaningful, real-world connections — not to act as a surveillance platform.

We take both user safety and user privacy seriously and aim to balance those responsibilities thoughtfully and lawfully.
