Know What GatherRound Is

GatherRound helps people find in-person gaming events — board games, TTRPGs, card games, and more. Events are organized by individual users and businesses, not by GatherRound itself.

Understand the Risks

  • Events involve meeting strangers
  • Some events are at private residences
  • GatherRound does not supervise events
  • Not all hosts are experienced with youth

Before Approving Attendance

We recommend:

  • Reviewing the event details together
  • Checking the host's profile and ratings
  • Knowing the exact venue and time
  • Meeting the host beforehand if possible
  • Accompanying your child, especially for first events

Questions to Ask

  • Is this event at a public venue or private home?
  • Will other minors be attending?
  • What is the host's experience with youth?
  • What are the house rules?
  • How can I contact you during the event?

For Players Under 18

Getting Guardian Approval

Before attending any event:

  1. Show your parent/guardian the event details
  2. Discuss the venue and who's hosting
  3. Get clear permission
  4. Agree on check-in times

  • Tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back
  • Stay connected — keep your phone charged
  • Buddy system — attend with a friend when possible

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Never be alone with a minor
  • Watch for signs of discomfort
  • Have parent contact info available
